The California Supreme Court established Committee on Judicial Ethics Opinions (CJEO) to provide written advisory opinions and confidential advice on judicial ethics issues. CJEO is composed of twelve current and former judicial officers. It is independent of all other entities and maintains confidentiality in all of its opinions and advice. CJEO accepts requests from the judiciary for ethics opinions and welcomes suggestions from the public on judicial ethics topics that are of interest and importance to the community. This website provides information about CJEO, contains additional judicial ethics resources, and provides online access to the committee and its work.
